No-Till Dispatch #3: Summer Cover Crops Featuring Frith Farm
Every month we put up a miniature podcast on our Patreon to show our appreciation for your support. Typically, we dig into a specific subject and I do a little related Q&A. It is free! You do not have to be a patreon member to listen, but while you’re there, consider kicking in a couple dollars a month. Season two of The No-Till Market Garden Podcast is being recorded as I type and we absolutely couldn’t do it without our patrons.
For this dispatch, we chatted with Daniel Mays of Frith Farm—who will be down here in October for an amazing no-till intensive!—about their summer soil cover crop strategies and I go into detail on how we use, sow, and terminate them on our farm.
Give a listen here and make sure to add your insights. There are still tickets available for that event, so get ‘em while the gettin’ ‘s good (details below). For a little preview, check out FrithFarm on Instagram and check out Daniel’s last few posts on Summer cover crops and interplanting.
Hey folks, we are announcing the first ever No-Till Growers workshop! Join us here in good ol’ KY on October 29th for a day-long intensive with Daniel Mays to discuss the no-till systems used at Frith Farm, followed by a tour of Rough Draft Farmstead with Farmer Jesse. The workshop begins at 8am and will be an all-day event beginning at Spark Community Cafe. Coffee and lunch will be provided and are included in the ticket price. After lunch, we’ll travel to Rough Draft Farmstead for a tour, time to connect, and drinks (BYOB). Space is limited, so please purchase yours as soon as possible. Discounts may be available to you based on your Patreon level. If you have any questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Note: click reserve your spot to fill out the information we need. The ticket will be added to your cart (top right) where you can finish purchasing your ticket.
