Today we’re joined by Michael and Shanon, mostly Michael, of Hillview Farms. Michael and Shanon were originally inspired by pioneers Singing Frogs Farm, and we talk about what has worked in adopting their deep compost and transplant approach, as well as what hasn’t and how they’ve adapted to using the tilther/power harrow and growing more direct seeded crops. We also talk about some creative marketing approaches (ie. the FARMily card), power outages and the importance of resilient soils, and having a goal-oriented long game instead of a dogmatic approach.
