The Women of No-Till

The Women of No-Till

We are excited to be dedicating our inaugural month to women in agriculture—the principle operators, the co-farmers, the mamas, the scientists, and everyone in-between. The next four straight episodes on the podcast will be with some of these amazing women and we can’t wait to share their perspectives as only a few of the many brilliant women influencing agriculture in general and the no-till movement in specific.

Women are not only a significant—and growing—part of the population of farmers (as much as half of all farmers in some states according the last census) but, anecdotally, well over half of those who reach out to our own farm for opportunities to get involved are female. So if the population of farmers is not ~ 50% right now, it feels like it almost certainly will be soon, and we’re excited to help that percentage aspire, grow, and thrive through No-Till Growers & Community.

With that in mind, if there is anyone you would ever like to hear on the podcast, or see us celebrate on the blog, let us know by sending us a message! We do our best to find as many growers as possible, but we will almost certainly miss some good ones on our own. Please, don’t let anyone’s good work go uncelebrated!

Happy New Year, and happy Women of No-Till month, everyone—let’s all have a ridiculously good 2019, shall we?

P.s. that’s my amazing co-farmer and wife pictured above. Wouldn’t and couldn’t do it without her.
