BCS products came to America in the early 1970’s at a time when Americans were re-discovering the joys of vegetable gardening and pursuing self-sufficiency. Almost forty years later, there are now many tens of thousands of BCS owners in the US and Canada. Like BCS in Italy, the mission of BCS America is to increase your productivity and reduce the physical effort required to accomplish your outdoor tasks, projects, and farm work. Now introducing the 30” spreader attachment for adding a consistent layer of compost/amendments to a standard 30” bed. Even in a no-till system, there are a myriad of uses for the best two wheel tractor on the market.

Today, we’re honored to have Clara Coleman of Four Season Farm on the podcast. We dig into what it was like growing up on what would become Four Season Farm, her arch back toward working alongside her father—the great Elliot Coleman—and the changes they made to make the farm more manageable. Of course, we get into the no-till techniques she uses in the high-tunnel, but Clara and Elliot use semi-regular tillage in the field. She articulates how important it is to not be dogmatic about our growing practices. Appropriate tillage is not necessarily a bad thing and can be used to great and practical effect when building soil. They have the soil to prove it! Last, we talk about her latest project, Real Farmer Care, and the importance of self-care as farmers.
